But for NASCAR veteran driver Michael Waltrip who has been twice the Daytona 500 winner, Le Mans is right where he wants to be in his racing career.

Facebook F1 fans have requested Racing-Pistons to join and promote a web petition concerning the blockage of "Fantasy F1 Application" that was embedded in the Facebook social network platform.
If you are a true F1 fan and you used to participate in the Fantasy F1 application, please join the web petition. Petition target is 1000 users but so far only 79 users have joined.

VW team triamphs Rallye Paris-Dakar in Latin America

Volkswagen team triamphed the 2011 Rally Paris Dakar that took place for another year in south America. Qatari VW driver Nasser Al-Attiyah avoided any trouble on the final day of the rallye and won his first ever overall title in the auto category ahead of his team-mate Giniel de Villiers by finishing second on the straightforward final stage from Cordoba back to Buenos Aires. His team-mate Carlos Sainz who was his major threat for the title slipped out of contention after problems during the final week, but at least he managed to win the final two stages of the race and finished 3rd.

Schumacher and Vettel win Nations Cup for Germany

The unbeatable German team of 5-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher and 2010 F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel won a 4rth successive Race of Champions Nations Cup for Germany after beating Team Great Britain in the final.

The 1997 F1 World Champion has been recruited by the Škoda team for the 2010-2011 Andros Trophy, and he will find himself in the same squad as his former grand prix team-mate and good friend at B.A.R. Honda (2001 and 2002 seasons), Olivier Panis.

No special winner for the Armor All Gold Coast 600, Garth Tander wins the controversial race

Garth Tander completed a victorious Armor All Gold Coast 600 Australian V8 series race which was enriched with the participation of international racing drivers mainly from IZOD Indycars series. However the race soaked in controversy when Championship and provisional race leader James Courtney had certain victory ripped from his grasp with 10 laps of the 102-lap race remaining.

US-Based DTM Series Confirmed

It's official: DTM Series - Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (the German auto racing) is officially headed for the United States under the partnership of both GRAND-AM and NASCAR for the organisation of a US-based DTM championship starting in 2013.

Audi endured 78th 24Heures DuMans

Before the start of the historical 78th endurance race of 24Heures DuMans anyone could easily predict that Team Peugeot Sport TOTAL would dominate the race after proving their speed with an astonishing 1-2-3-4 qualification. However the race is not a speed race but an endurance race and Audi prototypes proved to be much more reliable than Peugeot prototypes who lost their "running breath" during the final 8 hours of the race and yet not a single 908 HDi-FAP managed to finish the race. Audi triumphed the race in the most amazing way after completing an all podium 1-2-3 finish that was beyond even their own belief.

The No9 Audi R15 TDI of Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas of Audi Team North America was the victorious team, followed by No8 Audi of Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer of Audi Sport Team Joest and No7 car of Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello of Audi Sport Team Joest who finished 3rd.

United Colors of BMW

BMW Motorsport has revealed in Paris the latest BMW “Art Car” that will race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Car is painted by the famous artist Jeff Koons, who signed his colorful rolling artwork before a crowd of 300 at the Centre Pompidou art institution.
