Although rumours for co-operation with another Spanish racing team Eupsilon Euskadi, Hispania Racing Team, the least competitive team in F1, has announced its selling availability.
The Spanish sports newspaper AS reports that despite the new investment of former Telefonica boss Juan Villalonga, the Hispania team is "in a delicate situation" and the shock split with its new car builder partner Toyota Motorsport has left the team with "no car, no base, no drivers, no sponsors — only a Cosworth engine."
More significantly, there seems no solution to the funding problems although Villalonga's investment had led to talks with potential investors mainly in the United States and South America but no deals have been made and using the 2010 Dallara-designed car again is likely to leave the drivers afoul of the new 107 percent qualifying rule
As a result an announcement was made that "Jose Ramon Carabante and his equity partners have put up the team for sale".
