Although the official start of operation at the Korean International Circuit in Yeongam is delayed due to construction delays "caused by bad weather", the Korean Grand Prix is still scheduled for October 24th.
But the Asian Festival of Speed, featuring Asian GT and junior single seaters, which was originally set to take place at the venue at the end of August is re-scheduled one month later increasing the rumors that the venue won't be ready not even for the F1 race.
Motorsport Asia's chief executive David Sonenscher commented:
"This delay has caused many rumours about whether the event will ever take place. I have personally visited the site several times and I feel very sorry for them that despite all their hard work, they missed the deadline by only a couple of weeks. I can assure you that it was not through lack of effort or commitment."
