HRT revealed that Brunno Senna will be substitutied by team's official test and reserve driver Japanese Sakon Yamamoto for the British Grand Prix in Silverstone.
Yet, Bruno Senna will continue to race for HRT for the remainder of the season despite being dropped for the race as his team wanted to satisfy Yamamoto's sponsors by giving him a chance to drive.
The statement read: "In respect to the rumors about Bruno Senna's current status with Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team, the team wants to confirm that Bruno Senna has all the support of the Spanish team, that he remains one of the Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team official drivers and that he will be continuing to drive in the remaining races of the 2010 Formula 1 world championship."
It is rumored that both HRT drivers are in danger to lose their seat as pay drivers are ready to contribute more funding to the team, yet the latest disappointing results of Senna who has been all but last since the beginning of the season might has been the actual reason for choosing him instead of Indian Karun Chandhok. However, the way the single-race substitution took place by the last minute before the race consists a tactic widely used in CART and Indycars where drivers have no permanent seats in a team and can be well substituted for sponsoring reasons by other team drivers.
Yamamoto has started 14 grands prix in his career for backmarkers Jordan, Super Aguri and Spyker in 2006 and 2007 but never scored a point. He has also served as a test driver for Force India and ING Renault.
