Superb Button Masters Wet Chinese Grand Prix

Jenson Button secured a superb win in the wet Chinese Grand Prix ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg completing a dreaming all-Mercedes podium.

Fernando Alonso secured a strange 4rth place after experiencing a well notified jump starting overtaking the RedBulls and caused him a drive-through penalty. Renault's Robert Kubica maintained his strong form to finish 5th, while team-mate Vitaly Petrov excelled in difficult conditions in the closing stages to take 7th after overtaking Michael Schumacher and Mark Webber.

Still, it was a terrible rainy day for Red Bull, whose drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber, even though were starting the race from the first row, the finished the race back with an appalling 6th and 8th respectively.

The race revolved around pit stops for intermediate tyres as light rain was starting and stopping all the time during the race. Yet, Rosberg and Button decided not to initially pit, a decision that proved crucial and one that gave them the podium finish. hAMILTON on the other hand had a furious race competing consecutive battles with the Redbulls, the Ferraris and the rest of the field with a victorious outcome for the 2008 World champion that gave him the 2nd position.
While, Button deserves clearly the victory for his decision to master the wet circuit while racing with slick tyres, his teammate surely deserves the second place for the battling risks he took while overtaking Vettel and Autil in one move, and later Michael Schumacher who was left away from his known champion-like pace in a wet circuit.

Yet, Hamilton spoiled one more time his fair-play racing when he overtook Vettel in the pitlane entry and tried to steal his position once more while both cars were running through the pitlane towards the exit. However, for one more time Hamilton escaped from the stewards without any penalty.

A good result for Lotus saw Heikki Kovalainen finish 14th, while HRT took another minor triumph by getting both cars to the finish line.
