McMurray seals a multiyear deal with EGR

Bookmark and Share Jamie McMurray has confirmed the sign of a multiyear contract extending his partnership with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, as a result of an awesome 2010 Sprint Cup season that was marked by victories in all three season races the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400 and Bank of America 500.

McMurray finished also 14th in the final Sprint Cup standings but had his best season since leaving team owner Chip Ganassi for Roush Fenway Racing following the 2005 season.
After joining Roush, the next four years were tough for McMurray, who had barely missed the Chase with Ganassi but never was able to run as well at Roush, where he had two wins and a best points finish of 16th in four years.

McMurray’s agent Rod Moskowitz confirmed the deal and commented:
“We’re happy to announce Jamie signed a multiyear deal. It goes without saying that the signing was a formality as he and the 1 team [at EGR] had a tremendous year. We’re very excited about it.”

McMurray admitted he expected to re-sign with the team soon after such a succesful season.
“It’s just kind of a slow process to get all of that ironed out and working on a multiyear deal with everybody, so [we] just have to wait until we get all that done.”
