Yasukawa returns at Motegi

Bookmark and Share Conquest Racing has announced that the popular Japanese driver Roger Yasukawa will drive the No. 36 car at Indy Japan 300

Yasukawa, who started competing in the IZOD IndyCar Series in 2003, will be competing in his 6th Indy Japan 300 race at the 1.5-mile oval Twin Ring Motegi Speedway. Furthermore that would be his first Conquest Racing drive in a -according to rumors- qualification test for the 2011 full season lineup.
"I am really excited to be back in the car for the Indy Japan 300 race in a couple of weeks. I always enjoy being able to race in front of my family, friends, and fans in Japan, and would like to thank Conquest Racing, CWE and VIDA for this opportunity.
I have not driven an IndyCar for a year now, but I am very confident that the team will give me a strong car. I have worked with several crew members of the No. 36 car in the past, so it shouldn't take too long to gel with the team.
We’re expecting a record crowd for the Japan race this year, and I'm sure it is going to be very exciting."

The U.S.-born Japanese driver has been competing partially in the series for the last few years due to lack of sponsoring making his indycars debut in 2003 with the former Super Aguri Fernandez Racing which bankrupted after the failure of the super Aguri F1 project.
Conquest owner Eric Bachelart commented:
"We’re very happy to have Roger join the team and to be able to give him the opportunity to once again compete in front of his fans and family in Japan. Roger will bring great experience to the team that will be good for everyone and we look forward to working with him."
