No decision yet for new F1 tyre supplier - Teams proceed to 2011 designs

Bookmark and Share Because the decision about next year's supplier is not yet to be taken, F1 teams decided not to lose any more time for the design of 2011 cars, and will proceed taking under account the current specification of Bridgestone tyre.

The Japanese marque has already announced its departure from F1, and it had been expected that either the Italian company Pirelli or the French Michelin would be unveiled as successor.

But Michelin has thrown a spanner in the works, sending competition boss Nick Shorrock to Istanbul, where a 90-minute meeting on Sunday resulted in the teams still not deciding on an outcome for next year's World Championship.
