Schumacher back to F1 racing speculations

Michael Schumacher is about to make a sensational return to Formula One after a speculated verbal agreement tith Mercedes GP, according to reports in Germany. Both Bild and Focus magazines reported that the ex F1 world champion is about to sign an one -year contract with the new Mercedes team - formerly Brawn - if he passes a mandatory medical. Schumacher's contract is also expected to worth £7 million which is identical to Button offer to stay in the team earlier the previous. If the deal will be arranged then the German Mercedes team would have two German drivers in an all German F1 team even though team's headquarters are found in Brackley, England.



Schumacher had been linked in a sensational to return to F1 with Ferrari in the summer after Felipe Massa was sidelined following a crash. Yet, due to neck injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash, his return was put on hold.



In a question whether a 40 or 41-year-old compete against someone who is 24 years old, Nick Gry, Mercedes GP CEO reported Reuters that "In other sports people have proven that they are very capable even at that age. I think that would add another fascinating aspect and I think it is irrelevant whether it is Michael or Jacques [Villeneuve] ... I was joking with Mika [Hakkinen] the other day that maybe he should throw his hat in."


Fry continued that no announcement on Mercedes' driver line up was likely until the New Year. "We might say something before Christmas but it's more likely to be the beginning of January."
